Anti probably did not know that his Mom retired as the Clerk of Court 23rd district.Then she ran and won seat on the NC House,before losing in Primary to Ballard in 2018!
Yes, I did know that... what in my post implied anything otherwise?
I said that I suspect that Minton "plans to run for state congress in the next few years, following in his mom's footsteps. And we all know that there's no way that a Democrat is going to win in this district." Being conservative is a view of how government should govern. Of course, Cowboy. And I would argue that this is the exact opposite of today's Republican party. We've discussed countless times how the Conservative ideology wants a smaller government, but the Republican party has been trying to make the federal government larger and larger and larger.
Any gay man that supports a party that believes that he is an inferior human is either a fool, or more likely is just playing a game for his own advancement.

Really? Can you read his mind? Unlike the democrat party, the GOP allows free thinking. Maybe he believes in fiscal conservative ideas and smaller government.

In Wilkes? Sure they did. We had 3 people running for 2 seats, and 2 of the candidates were openly gay. We now have our first openly gay commissioner.
The weird thing is that he and his mom both run as Republican. Which I think makes it clear that he just ran as Republican to get the vote, there's no way that a gay man can really support a party that think he's an abomination and shouldn't have equal rights.

Agreed. Once people can look beyond skin color and sexual orientation maybe we won't need to celebrate the little victories. But until that day comes, I will celebrate when people have finally looked beyond.
